This workshop is a 2-part journey into singing in the Middle East, specifically breaking down barriers of young girls singing in Syria. Lead by acclaimed music educator and researcher Joan Litman, participants of all ages are welcome to join us in learning an Arabic folk song, exploring the tonality of a different musical scale, and experiencing that music in the context of Syrian culture. With personal stories from her travels and a welcome by one of her former students, this workshop is not to be missed!
